Our story · Duck, NC · Est. 2006

The best things in life begin with a leap of faith

Beach Gallery opened in 2006 with a simple idea: build a life around art.

Mike & Anne · from the studio wall

We’re Mike and Anne, lifelong self-taught artists who pursued our dream and opened a small gallery in Duck, North Carolina. What began as a creative venture soon became a space where we could share our own work and connect with people who love the coast as much as we do.

Anne

Mixed media collage

Anne grew up in Les Rousses, a French mountain town on the Swiss border, before moving to the United States in 1980. Her mixed media collage work blends inspiration from the alpine landscapes of her childhood with decades spent living near the ocean. Influenced by a lifelong love of creating and the many artists she has admired over the years, her pieces layer texture, color, and found elements into something uniquely her own.

Mike

Acrylic on canvas

Mike grew up as an Army brat, living across the U.S. and overseas, but the Outer Banks always felt like home. After spending his early adult years there, the coastline never stopped calling him back. His acrylic paintings are inspired by the shifting light, colors, and rhythms of the shore and sea.

Georgia

Sculptural mixed media

In 2026, we welcomed the work of our daughter, Georgia, whose sculptural and mixed media creations continue our family’s love of making one-of-a-kind pieces.

Still family run

Still family run. Still a working studio.

Today, Beach Gallery is still a family-run working studio with a relaxed, coastal vibe. Come in, take your time, and enjoy the art. And if you’re not lucky enough to be in OBX right now, this site brings a little bit of the beach and the gallery to you.
