The process

How the work gets made

Each piece begins outdoors, then comes to life in the studio. Three artists, three ways of working, one address.

  1. 01

    It starts outside

Salt air, low light, the gray-greens of the shore. Most pieces begin as something noticed on a walk, a drive up the beach road, or a long look at the sound at the end of the day.

  2. 02

Then it comes into the studio

The gallery is the studio. Work gets made in the same rooms it hangs in, so what you see on the wall was usually finished a few feet away.

  3. 03

    Made once

Every original is one of a kind and listed once. When it sells, online or in person, it comes down. The only pieces we reproduce are prints, and they say so.

Anne

Mixed media collage

Layers first. Anne builds each collage from paper, paint, and found elements, texture going down before color goes over it. The found pieces land last, and they’re usually what makes a piece hers.

The alpine landscapes of her childhood and decades of living near the ocean both show up, sometimes in the same piece. Nothing is planned to the inch; the work tells her when it’s done.

Mike

Acrylic on canvas

Mike paints the shore he keeps coming back to. Working in acrylic, he chases the shifting light, colors, and rhythms of the sea, the version of the Outer Banks that always felt like home.

Some paintings are quiet and gray-green. Some are loud. The coast does both, and so does the work.

Georgia

Sculptural mixed media

Georgia’s sculptural and mixed media pieces are built by hand from gathered and found material. They carry the family habit of making one-of-a-kind objects into three dimensions.

She joined the gallery wall in 2026. Her work is the newest thing in the room.

Come in anyway. Watching the work happen is half the point of a gallery that’s also a studio.
